This has to be the best scene on the Supergirl film. She arrives brilliantly and then camera is positioned behind her sexy red boots as the truckers approach her.
Funny thing is that these guys have no idea who they’re speak to even though she tells them she is Superman’s cousin. And then the best bits: The first guy must grope her breast and pays for it with a chin lift and then the subsequent humiliating blow across the yard.
His friend then pulls out a knife which she looks at with contempt and users her heat vision to render it useless to his pathetic human hands.
And then my best bit – she kicks him in the groin which lifts him into the air where he then lands on the rubbish, to which she then flies off.
Fantastic stuff.
Brilliant, this was the scene that got me into superheroines! I was 9 years old when this movie came out, and I still remember being jealous of the guy she throat lifts!
I’m with you Matthew – exactly the same for me. Everything about this scene summed it up for me at that point – the costume, the boots, the strength and the mild arrogance… fantastic!
I think I was 14 at the time give or take a few years. My hormones were raging when I saw the movie. Too afriad to ask anyone to go except for a comic book loving friend of mine. I remember telling him it was cheesy and Slater couldn’t act. Inside of course I was dying to see it again. Jon, maybe you could recreate that scene in a slowly drawn out story?
