She seems to get slammed more in this one than the other.
As for the change of costume, maybe they caught some heat from DC.
Hmm maybe. Mind you, this costume is in the style of cartoon supergirl right? Jon will know better than me whether DC/Marvel really go after sites portraying their characters. I know for a fact about someone threatened with legal action over Wonder Woman infringement and it turned out to be some mischief-maker pretending to act for DC. I really think if they were actively going after anyone infringing likeness they’d hit everyone, regardless of site content. The Steeles for example use Supergirl costumes that are better than the actual film, if DC were persuing this they would simply say; “You are making money out of our character, give us a handsome cut or take it all down and never use it again.” I’d be interested to know if Jon has been legitimately threatened or if the early change to a star emblem from an ‘S’ emblem was just erring on the side of caution.
Could it be they killed off the first Astro Girl in the first movie and this is supposed to be her twin sister?
By the way, there are anime characters named Astro Girl (sister to Astro Boy, I gather) and Steel Angel that don’t seem to have any connection to those in the live action videos.

have have a copy of astro girl part 1 and its not about peril, its all good super hero powers!!! she dose get tested but he wins in the end. a great fan film well worth a download. The bullet bouncing sceens are very cool!!! Ill upload to you tube if i get some requests???

Hey, thanks to Scotty for letting us know what the Astro Girl movie is like. I’m really glad to hear it contains more superheroine feats than just the peril stuff.
I haven’t got round to buying it yet, but I may do in the next few days.
One thing I’d say, that although I really appreciate the thought behind it, I’m not 100% comfortable with posting the link to the film on YouTube on this blog.
Don’t get be wrong – I fully appreciate the hypocrisy because we’ve posted YouTube links on this blog before.
But I always try and put myself in their position and if I’d invested all that money to make that film then I wouldn’t want it out on YouTube for free.
However, by posting a low res version on YouTube it may drum up more sales for them – who knows?
Bottom line, would you mind posting the link on another site like SuperWomanMania and I’ll pick up on it there.

hi jon and the crew, im sorry i tried to make a clip by the DRM protection stoped me. Dose anybody know how to overcome this so i can post a clip or two??
Hey, I (finally) downloaded the full version of Astro Girl last night, and the DRM protection is pretty full-on isn’t it? I just tried transferring the video from the machine I downloaded it from to another machine and it didn’t work – video only plays on the machine that it was purchased on.
I will be writing a full review of AstroGirl in the next day or so. I’ve got to say I thought it was brilliant and well worth buying for the super strength, the effects, etc.
There isn’t any real peril stuff on the film I’ve got to say: just AstroGirl kicking a LOT of ass!

i agree john i really tempted to by version 2 and see what happens. I really stuck with the DRM but at least i know someone else who has seem i!!! i love the bit when the bullets bounce off. thats way cool!!! could have done with some better boots though!! they made the black one’s u used on your first comic look great!!! bad choice there lol!!! you know how us fans of this type of stuff are particular about i superheroines boots ! lol. I just bought the movie but for some reason the URL e-mail that I receive didn’t actually worked, or at least my computer didn’t recognize it since it was totally in japanese symbols. Could one of the persons that already has seen the movie help me out with the URL? Or at least tell me how did you get to the download page. Also is there anyway to contact the company to ask them to resend me the URL e-mail since I tried all of the companies e-mail but none of them worked.
