Superheroine costume competition – extension!!

Hey guys,

I’ve got a bunch of emails from you guys asking whether I can extend the closing date because you’re putting together some ideas. Thats no problem. If I’m being honest there aren’t as many ideas as I was expecting. Thanks to all those that have contributed so far and good news for you: your designs stand a lot better chance of being created into real costumes on our live action models!!

Thanks and any problems just whack me an email.

Jon

  1. I heard from Chris Filippone. He says, yes, he’s interested and wants to follow up. But if you do happen to pick the Lexa Starr design, I hope it can be used in a Lexa Starr story.

  2. Brantley, thats great news. I’ll email him tomorrow. His costume design for Lexa Starr could definitely be one of the fore-runners!

  3. Hello!

What’s nice about the Lexa Starr costume (designed per Brantley’s specs) is that it is fairly simple in design, meaning it wouldn’t take much to make it for a real model.

I’m trying to render a nicer image. I’m not super happy w/ it (no pun intended). Hopefully you will find it worth your while. (Brantley’s character probably deserves better. LOL!)

BTW – I like your site! I never realized the level of interest in the female super hero!! Very cool!!

  4. I was pretty happy with the design. Of course, I’m not sure if you can find the right fabric to cling to the model’s breasts the way Chris has it doing!

  5. Well, I’ve dumped in a bunch of old stuff and a couple of quick sketches, I’ve one more up my sleeve and we’ll call it an entry. Just been busy with other things lately is all.

Normally I wouldn’t touch a pay site shy of a 10-ft rant about the good o’ freebie daze, but if you’re offering to sew up something live-action, I’ll bite.

As for construction mine range anywhere from airbrush on skin through crushed velvet and ‘TAPE, I need TAPE’, all the way out to ‘might wanna hire a blacksmith for this one’. Ain’t none of it exactly ‘office casual’.

Best of luck to y’all. Doesn’t matter who wins or what she winds up wearing. Only matters how she takes it off…and who can undress her with the fewest bullets.

    N-Joy.
    -VE.

  6. Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Chris/Brantley I got the Lexa costume designs and I’ll add them to the gallery when I present everything that we’ve received. Got to tell you that there have been some great designs sent over and VE’s designs are pretty awesome!

Extension was to accomodate a few people that wanted a little more time, and I thought that the presentation may double up as a nice little Christmas present to us all!

  7. The more the merrier. But I suppose stripping off the winning costume would have to be reserved for for UltraSexyHeroines.com. Likewise shredding the outfit with bullets, assuming that the costume isn’t as invulnerable as the wearer.

Lexa’s outfit stood up to death rays and the heat of an oil field fire, among other things, but G-Girl in MY SUPER EX-GIRLFRIEND had to get a new costume after she was shot at by bank robbers. Of course, they didn’t let the bad guys shoot at her long enough to denude her — are you up to simulating that sort of thing in a comic?

  8. Simulating ‘that sort of thing’ in a still-shot comic? Anything a pencil/ink/colors comic can do, any idiot with Photoshop and a pen tablet can do and then some, live-action, and far better. It just takes time. Pencil/ink/colors comics nowdays are really all Painter/Photoshop comics now anyway.

I’m not a member here and never will be. But honestly the samples I’ve seen around here of FX are rudimentary at best compared to even what I can do. And there’s an ARMY of folks over at heromorph.com that are WAY better than I at ‘photohacking’.

It’s just a matter of how much more Painter/Photoshop Jon’s willing to learn, or since he’s collecting money from y’all: who he’s willing to commision for what.

  9. You’re not out yet Chris. In fact, I personally love your costume design.

I’ve just had a lot of emails from people asking to extend the deadline mainly because they need more time to finish off their designs.

However, I’m not getting much activity, so I’m going to give them until new years day and then that’s it. I’ll be publishing all the costume designs to a page on the Super Sexy Heroines website and I’ll be uploading a poll. Those that do not get their costume designs by new years day can of course submit their costume designs, but it won’t be part of our little competition.

So come on guys, get those designs in!!
