Take Five, chapter 2

Published today is the second and final chapter of Take Five.

In this final chapter the stunning beautiful Supergirl must overcome the bad guy with the power-sapping crystal, and get back to Jon (me!) to continue the photoshoot.

Story idea and written by Argonaut, its another 28-page chapter featuring lots of images of Supergirl. All credits to Arogonaut!

  1. Sorry Argonaut but I have to say I really didn’t enjoy the story. It didn’t go anywhere and the witty dialouge that is usually present was really missed.

Half of the second issue was the heroine not saying word and just pointing at the bad guy and making facial expressions. The villian should have said something as well, instead of just holding up the rock. The rock was pointless as well and served no real purpose.

Just my two cents. Everything else I loved, especially the new boots and the photography was excellent. Super Woman is ok, but I am really missing Miss Power. I got pretty excited at the begining, with Jon saying along the lines, “I am super late and my subscribers are getting angry!” I have to admit that was pretty clever. Makes me wonder if Jon was late on purpose 🙂

Put me down as vote for Miss Power starring in the next release.

  2. Very clever story – I liked it and as usual A+ presentation and model. I hope she returns as supergirl:)

  3. Hey, I just wanted to pick up on a couple of points by Jose.

FIrst off, thanks for the honest feedback. Any shortfalls in the story are down to me, and not Argonaut.

The story that Argonaut sent over was a great little one-pager. You can imagine the same story in one chapter, without the part where the Supergirl gets overcome a little.

In Argonauts original story the girl gets changed into costume, beats up the bad guy and rushes back.

Now… the part where the bad guy starts to overcome Supergirl was my insertion and I agree that it kind of pushed the story off-focus, and I completely agree that the second chapter of the story suffered because of this.

Sorry guys! But… Jose, you’ll be pleased to know that we should have Miss Power coming up on Monday 🙂

  4. I would respectfully disagree with Jose. The story concept was an interesting departure from the usual format we see here. That the crystal had Supergirl on the ropes for a while supplied dramatic tension and added to the story. This comic worked for me.

Another plus is that the comic is chock full of awesome shots of Alice, who makes a wonderful Supergirl. Feel free to bring her back for another story. Soon. Thanks!

  5. I enjoyed the story also, I thought it could off had a little more dialogue, hope to see alice come back. On a side note does anyone know if superheroine film is still in business, just wondering seems like a while sense they had an update

  6. My apologies for coming after Argonaut! I do understand the reason for adding the rock scene to build tension and conflict in the story, which is always good, but here it just seemed unneccessary for this particular issue. I did enjoy seeing Super Woman over come it though and knock it out of the villians hand. I submitted a script to the guys over at Superheroinefilms.com with a similar scenario where a heroine overcomes her weakness to pummel the bad guys.

I believe they are still in business Matt, judging from the emails I’ve shared with them.

I really, really enjoyed the line in issue #1 about being late for your subscribers. It made me snicker. And the photography was top notch. I loved how big the pictures were in some of the pages.

Awesome to here about Miss Power. She’s my favorite. Sorry if I came off negative to some of you guys.

  7. Jose: No apologies are necessary. Your criticisms are fair and thoughtful.

Jon wrote to me a while ago to ask if I had any ideas for short 1 or 2 chapter stories that he could shoot at the end of a day, while the models were still on his dime. “Take Five” was what I came up with. I wanted it to be a little different and off-beat, so I wrote a wordless action sequence framed by the scenes in the studio. The absence of dialogue was meant to create a contrast between the “frame” and the action sequence.

The rock was Jon’s idea, and I think it was a good one. There’s been some conversation on this blog lately regarding the lack of conflict in many of the stories, and Jon wanted to add an element of tension to my script. The rock allowed him to end the first chapter on a cliffhanger that wasn’t in my original story.

So Jon and I tried something a little different. Some readers liked it (thanks, guys!), others not so much (sorry!). Personally, I think Jon did a great job bringing my story to life, so he shouldn’t be giving me all the credit. And one thing we all seem to be agreed on is that Alice is a terrific Supergirl! I hope to see her in another story soon.

    Cheers —

    Argonaut

  8. Jose: No need to apologize. Your criticism was constructive in nature, and not negative, offensive, or abrasive.

I enjoyed the latest story, especially seeing Alice as Supergirl, but I am ready for some Miss Power, too.

  9. Hey all. This is a very respectful set of comments 🙂

Jose, I agree with Alberto – I didn’t think you were negative/offensive/abrasive, and I really hope my comment above didn’t suggest that.

I just wanted to make sure that all were aware that any shortcomings in the comic were my fault and not Argonaut’s.

So, onto the finer points of Alice – she’s a great Supergirl, huh?

As for Miss Power… you’l have to wait until Monday!

  10. the crystal idea seems good but…is it really a power snap or does she simulate? cause in the end she gets easily the upper hand against the thug…
i’d like to see miss power too…in a action comic photo story her costume is so…sexy…

  11. alice was good looking in her “power pose”…even in supergirl costume…
let’s try with the other superheroines dress…
(i hope some model with real curves in a new brand more sexy miss power or wonder babe costume…you know what i mean…lol)

  12. I do like Alice I think she’s awesome! Dose she have a website what’s her real name I’d like to see more of her, does she have a model name she goes by? Anybody know?
